Hello! I had an idea of making a documentary about stray animals in Egypt about 4 years ago. Since then, I’ve been observing, feeding and playing the stray dogs, and I was surprised by how unthreatening they actually are, and how they’re afraid of me more than I was ever afraid of them.Today, I finally present to you “People of Desolation”. In this film, I try to show a bit of stray dogs’ lives and how they’re treated, the good and the bad. This documentary is from me to all stray animals of Egypt. Thank you, for trusting me when you had every right not to, for giving me love when you couldn’t find it, and for showing me the true meanings of trust and protection. This project would not have been possible without Rodrigo Brum. Thank you for believing and bringing out the best in me, and for all the times you gave me reasons to carry on when I gave up all hope.To Mahmoud, thank you for proving that you don’t need to be wealthy to be humane, and thank you for taking care of stray dogs.I highly appreciate Animal Protection Foundation and HOPE shelters for all their work in saving lives, raising awareness, and being one of the inspirations for this project. And finally, huge thanks to my friends and family for all their help in the process of making this project become a reality. Ahmed Sabbour Farah Elhefny Farah Mohamed Amina El Shazly Moataz MostafaHope you like it, and please be kind to strays ☺️
