في عدد لا نهائي من الأماكن التاريخية الجميلة اللي ممكن تتزار في القاهرة، معظمنا ممكن يكون سمع عنهم أو شاف صور ليهم، بس عمرنا ما رُحنا، أو نعرف الطريق يتراح إزاي. من معالم تاريخية لمقامات دينية ومعاصرة، القاهرة جمعت بين عدد من الثقافات المختلفة وقدرت تمزج بين عدد من الحضارات في خليط ملوش مثيل حوالين العالم. ولو نفسك تروح مكان معين مش عارف توصله إزاي جوا القاهرة، خصوصًا لو كان من معالم الحضارة الإسلامية فحساب إنتسجرام “Blue Cairo” أو “القاهرة الزرقاء” هيوصلك عن طريق الخريطة التفاعلية الجديدة بتاعتهم.

المنصة دي بتركز على التراث الإسلامي في مصر من فن ومعمار وتاريخ، وعشان يقدروا يوثقوا جمال القاهرة القديمة بدأوا يشتغلوا على خريطتهم دي من كذا شهر على جوجل، وفعلًا خلال مدة قليلة وثقوا كتير من معالم الفترة دي في التاريخ المصري بأماكن وعنواين على الخريطة.

الخريطة عليها حوالي 700 معلم إسلامي تاريخي من جوامع ومباني وقصور وقباب وبيوت ومنارات وساحات.

The beautifully-decorated Bab el-Mezayeneen is al-Azhar Mosque’s largest of eight doors. It takes its name—of el-Mezayeneen (The Adorners)—after the barbers who used to sit under it. Since barbers did not traditionally have shops, they usually moved from one place to another to seek work and eventually settled at this Azhar entrance to give haircuts to the people of the area. . The door was ordered by Sultan al-Ashraf Qaitbay in the Mamluk era and redecorated by Mamluk amir Abdelrahman Katkhuda in the Ottoman era. It leads to the Taybarsiyyah and Aqbughawiyyah madrasas. . The Mosque and Madrasa of Salar and Singir al-Gawly was commissioned by Amir Sayf al-Din Salar on top of a small hill called Kabsh Castle as a religious school and place to host Sufis in need. It was later renovated by Amir Alaa el-Din Singir al-Gawly, whose name was then associated with the place. . Both Amirs were mamluks of Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalawun. Sayf al-Din served as a minister under Sultan Qalawun for 11 years before being arrested and imprisoned, where he died; and Alaa el-Din was a lieutenant colonel of mamluks in Egypt. He was promoted and became governor of Damascus and later Gaza. He returned to Egypt after a career in public service and worked in the science of hadith until his last days. .
